Winter scenes

Stockton Cutting looking great in the dusting of snow Sunday morning (19/2/2012) it is just great to see it looking as it should. Roll on the spring and summer to see it start to restore the flora.

Just passing Sunday morning - who'd have believed the snow?

Work Parties & Chipping

Thursday, both Rugby local group & Nature Force worked together .  They divided into two groups.  One group were brush cutting & clearing between Ashlawn Road bridge and Onley Lane. The other group worked at the Marsh clearing brash for the chipper.

Marsh clearance progressing

Sunday’s work party spent a very cold morning humping a good deal of logs out of the marsh.  The cutting down is almost complete.  The brash & logs now need to be chipped.  It is hoped when the re-growth comes that it can be kept under control.   See Work in Progress Pytchley Marsh Jan 2012-1 for the why’s and wherefore’s.

That has opened it up!

Birds in the Hedgerows

Keep your eyes open.

Redwing & Fieldfare are in the hedgerows and gardens with this colder weather –  getting the last of the berries when the local blackbirds will allow.

A Barn Owl was seen a few days ago close to the farm near the Cock Robin Wood roundabout  @ SP 493 725.
