Fine Thursday

By contrast on Thursday the sun shone and it was an amazingly warm morning for 3 of us from the local group to continue work on the grassland south of Ashlawn Bridge ( Section 5) see photos.

It was so warm that 6 species of butterfly were flying – Small & Large Whites, Brimstone, Peacock, Red Admiral & Comma. The latter 4 will find places to hibernate for the winter to emerge flying again in the spring. Also an Angle Shades moth was on the wing, Ladybirds, and a couple of dragonflies, tiny toads & frogs were also seen.
