Newton Picnic Site, etc

25 April 2015

The heavy shower last night not evident this afternoon and the NW bank still appears very dry. Despite this good numbers of the wild strawberry plugs recently planted by Harvey have survived. The bank has huge amounts of nettle showing and this will need attending to so that other seeded plants will stand a chance.

It was great to find a small clump of existing Cowslip in flower (See picture.).

Rosemary held an event here yesterday with local young people. Their task was to make seed bombs using wildflower seed and throw them to distribute the seed. It seems to have gone well.

Jim has made an application to an Aviva Community Fund to enable more resources to be available to help with this project.
