Bloody Nosed Beetle Survey, Lawford Heath

The Bloody Nosed Beetle see Bloody-nosed Beetle Training Poster

This handsome black beetle is out and about from April – September. Sadly, it is one of Warwickshire’s rarest beetles and we need your help to find out where it is so that we can protect it! I believe Lawford Heath is the only place in Warwickshire where this beetle occurs. It feeds on bedstraw family plants, mainly cleavers in the hedgerows on the heath, and is sometimes spotted squashed on the road.

Join Richard Brown of Coventry University in partnership with Sustrans and discover all about this fascinating beetle. In addition to teaching you how to identify the beetle, this session will induct you into the project so that you can take part in surveys over the summer.
