Work resumes at Newbold Quarry

The first work party of the Autumn/Winter season took place on Tuesday 6th October 2020.

Work took place on two fronts, in the area of the glade nearest to the car park. There was cutting back of trees and scrub, to allow more light onto the pathway and through the glade. The grass and other vegetation in the glade was cut with a brushcutter and raked off. This is to benefit the mix of wild flowers and grasses that will grow from next spring.

While working close to the ground, we also get a chance to spot some of the wildlife that calls the quarry home! The site is an important breeding location for toads.
