Swift Valley gets a Kestrel Box

Volunteers from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) have very kindly provided and installed a kestrel nesting box in the reserve. This was put in place on the 21st of March.

The chosen site will give any kestrel family access to meadow, wetland ,woodland ende and hedgerows for hunting their prey.

During the installation, a resting Comma butterfly was observed in the tree. The pictures shows just how will camouflaged it is at rest.
