Rugby in Bloom Awards

Ashlawn Cutting was award a Gold and Overall Winner award in the Environmental category of Rugby in Bloom.

The awards presentation took place at the Benn Hall on Tuesday 8th November. The local volunteers attending the presentation received an an unexpected additional award. Our group was given a special award for outstanding contribution to Rugby in Bloom. In addition to a certificate, we also received an engraved glass trophy,

The inscription reads:
Ashlawn Cutting Nature Reserve Volunteers for their excellent work and many hundreds of hours of volunteering at the GCW (Great Central Walk).

Special mention should also go the the Rotary Club, whose members have worked tirelessly to improve the section of the GCW between Hillmorton Road and Abbey Street, This has resulted in making the entire length of the GCW a wildlife corridor, It also gives those walking or cycling through a much more enjoyable experience.
